Project: Nanofiber Research Lab - NCNN at MUET Jamshoro
The National Center of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (NCNN) at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Jamshoro, invites passionate researchers, technicians, and students to join a three-year project establishing a Nanofiber Research Lab focused on sustainable pest management for agriculture. This multidisciplinary effort will research, develop, and commercialize nanofiber membrane-based products that reduce pesticide use and improve crop protection.
Who we're looking for
We have full-time contractual openings (initial six-month contracts, renewed every six months subject to performance and funds). All roles require physical presence, Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00. Remuneration is fixed and all-inclusive.
Key positions
Research Associate (R&D) - PPS 7; Rs. 157,500; 1 post. MS/ME (18 years) + 2 years research or PhD in nanomaterials/nanotechnology/membranes. Responsibilities: lead experiments, literature reviews, publications, IP, and mentor staff.
Research Associate (Operations) - PPS 7; Rs. 157,500; 1 post. BE/BS (16 years) + 4 years field experience or MS/ME (18 years) + 2 years industry experience. Responsibilities: manage lab operations, pilot production, field trials, safety, and reporting.
Research Assistant (Lab) - PPS 6; Rs. 105,000; 1 post. BE/BS or ME/MS in relevant fields. Responsibilities: operate electrospinning/testing equipment, assist experiments and data recording.
Research Assistant (Field) - PPS 6; Rs. 105,000; 1 post. BS/MS Entomology. Responsibilities: plan and run field trials, collect and analyze pest-control data.
Lab Technician - PPS 6; Rs. 105,000; 2 posts. DAE/BTech/Diploma + 3 years experience. Responsibilities: maintain equipment, assist experiments, preventive maintenance.
Computer Operator - PPS 6; Rs. 105,000; 1 post. BS/BE Computer/IT + 1 year experience. Skills: MS Office, bookkeeping, website/social media, AI tools, documentation, and admin support.
PhD Students - stipend Rs. 70,000; 1 post. Enrolled at MUET in relevant programs; conduct research and thesis work.
MS Students - stipend Rs. 50,000; 2 posts. Enrolled at MUET; support lab testing and thesis research.
