According to Enrique, one of the X engineers, the functionality is slowly dying out for Android users. In a post on Friday, he encouraged users to update their apps and enjoy the audio and video calling experience on X. “Update your app and give your mom a call,” he suggested, as reported by Hans India.
However, it is important to note that this feature is exclusively available for premium users. To enable or disable audio and video calling, go to User Settings > Privacy & Security > Direct Messages. Within these settings, users have the flexibility to choose from three groups—contacts in their address book, those they follow, and verified users—who can initiate calls. This customization allows users to select multiple options based on their preferences.
X has introduced a new basic paid tier, specifically for certified organizations. This tier, available for $200 per month or $2,000 per year, provides businesses with a gold checkmark badge and many additional features. This move offers a cost-effective alternative to the previous $1,000 per month “Full Access” plan. Designed for small businesses, subscribers to this category receive ad credits and priority support, facilitating rapid growth on the X platform.
As X continues to innovate, these updates promise to redefine the communication experience for Android users, making it more immersive and engaging.
